The 4th Wall: Make the Invisible Visible is a project of the Michaëlle Jean Foundation, with the collaboration of several prestigious museums, supported by TD Bank Group and the FRO foundation. The goal is to give a voice to and a national profile to young creators, often excluded from society, by opening the doors of our major cultural institutions and by helping them to reach a wide audience.
The exhibition opened at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (1379 Sherbrooke St. West) on February 5th and will be up until the end of March.

FRO Foundation is proud to continue its festival 2014 edition conversing with intellectual and charismatic Dr. Afua Cooper.
To follow with the festival, we will have chance to talk with the writer, historian and poet, Afua Cooper, who holds a doctorate in the history of African Canadians. Specialist in slavery and abolitionism, she spent fifteen years picking up the various elements making up the intriguing story of Marie-Joseph Angélique. She is also a professor of history at the University of Toronto. This will be accompanied by artistic performance delivered by talented artists from the compilation FRO 2014 and live painting.
La fondation FRO est fière de vous inviter au lancement de la compilation FRO 2014 et de poursuivre son festival en conversant avec l’intellectuelle et très charismatique Dr Afua Cooper qui d’ailleurs participe à la compilation.
En plus des performance artistique d’artiste plus que talentueux, nous aurons la chance de nous entretenir avec l’ écrivaine, historienne et poétesse, Afua Cooper qui détient un doctorat en histoire des Afro-Canadiens. Spécialiste de l’esclavage et de l’abolitionnisme, elle a consacré une quinzaine d’années à recoller les divers éléments qui composent l’histoire intrigante de Marie-Joseph-Angélique. Elle est aussi professeure d’histoire à l’Université de Toronto.

For closure of his 2014 festival, the FRO Foundation honored none other than the great Kathleen Cleaver. Intellectual, committed, she was the first woman to reach the rank of Black Panthers. A conference and an interactive discussion with the public are planned.
In 1966, she considers unacceptable racism and injustice against blacks in the United States. She became the Secretary in charge for Communication, and the first woman member of the Black Panthers. To the masculine Black Power slogan, she prefers Black is beautiful. When Huey Newton was jailed, she was the one who sets up the campaign for his release. This will be accompanied by artistic performance delivered by talented artists from the compilation FRO 2014 and live painting.
Pour la cloture de son festival 2014, la Fondation FRO à l’honneur de recevoir nul autre que la grande Kathleen Cleaver. Intellectuelle, engagée, elle fut la première femme a rejoindre les rang du Black Panthers. Une conférence ainsi qu’une discussion interactive avec la public sont prévus.
Dès 1966, elle considère inadmissible le racisme et l’injustice envers les Noirs aux états-Unis. Elle devient la Secrétaire chargée de la Communication, et la première femme membre des Black Panthers. Au slogan masculin Black Power, elle préfère un Black is beautiful.
