MONTREAL — Students and faculty at McGill University have accused the dean of arts of “steamrolling” through a plan to reorganize the arts faculty — despite their objections — in a letter presented to principal Suzanne Fortier at last week’s senate meeting.
Dean Christopher Manfredi’s “actions have eroded our confidence that he is acting in the best interest of the faculty,” said the letter written by a group of staff and students known as Support Our Staff McGill (SOS McGill). “He has disregarded evidence that (the reorganization) is harmful rather than helpful.”
