Student Volunteers Needed for Upcoming Events!

The Dean of Education and the Education University Advancement office are hosting 3 special evening events and are looking for student volunteers.  Here are the details:

March 27 (Monday) 6pm-8pm   MONTREAL ALUMNI event with PANEL & MODERATOR – Cocktail Reception (Visit the Faculty of Education website / EVENTS (far right column) for panel bios, etc.)

“An Education Degree: The Road Less Travelled”.

Guests:  Montreal alumni have been invited to hear the fascinating stories of three BEd grads and their career journeys.  Panel will be moderated by Terry DiMonte (CHOM).

Event location:  1st floor lobby.  Wine & Hors d’oeurves served.

Volunteers needed:  1.  Registration Desk (2)   2.  Oversee beverage and food table (1)   3.  Set-up and tear-down chairs and refreshment tables.  (2)  Set up time:  ~4:45pm

April 19 (Wednesday)  5pm-7pm   AWARDS & SCHOLARSHIPS RECEPTION – Cocktail Reception

Guests:  2016 Education award recipients & award donors.  2016 student award winners and the donors that have created their awards will have a chance to meet and mingle.

Event location:  Ed Library, 1st floor.  Wine & Hors d’oeurves served.

Volunteers needed:  1.  Photographer & Assistant (2)  2.  Oversee beverage and food table (1)   3.  Set-up and tear-down chairs and refreshment tables (1).  Set up time:  2pm for ~a half hour

Photographer & Assistant:  Looking for a team:  one student that’s comfortable taking ‘head shots’ of student awardees (we have a great Faculty camera to use!) and a student to write down name and email of student award winner that was photographed.

June 7 (Wednesday) 5’ish-6:30pm  CONVOCATION RECEPTION (event starts after 3pm convocation ceremony ends) – Cocktail Reception

Guests:  Education graduating students, family and friends

An email inviting all the 2017 spring grads will be going out shortly.  The Dean is hosting a ‘raise a congratulatory glass’ reception honouring our grads.

Event location: SSMU Ballroom.  Wine & Hors d’oeurves served and grad gift distributed.

Volunteers needed:  1.  Set up table and hand out gift to grads at event (1-2 volunteers: set up time 4pm)   2.  Decorate Ballroom (2)  Set up time: 3pm for ~ an hour
